Students interested in the growing field of green chemistry are encouraged to attend the 1st International Conference on SFC, sponsored by The Green Chemistry Group. Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC), a burgeoning, environmentally friendly technology used primarily in the pharmaceutical industry, is the focus of the conference. Amgen, Inc. has contributed scholarship money to help defray student travel expenses to Pittsburgh, September 23-25, 2007.

The Green Chemistry Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating chemists throughout the world and promoting the benefits of environmentally safe research and development processes. The 1st International Conference on SFC has attracted speakers from several countries to convene at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh and share new developments, applications and economics of SFC advancements. Dr. David Pinkston, from Proctor and Gamble Pharmaceuticals, will conduct the plenary session on Monday, September 24.

Students interested in applying for the Amgen scholarship to the conference are asked to submit their resume at info@greenchemistrygroup.org for consideration. Effective August 1, the registration fee for students and professors is $195.
